A note on structure
This update branches based on your previous choices. You’ll experience either the straight or queer path in a given playthrough, not both. They run parallel to each other, so if you’re wondering why you can’t access the other route, that’s intentional. I’ve added a Story Path Selector to the main menu to solve exactly that.

A note on save compatibility
Shortly before this release I discovered a bug that made old save files incompatible with this build. I spent a significant amount of time chasing what turned out to be an irreversible issue before accepting there was no clean fix.

The result is the Story Path Selector, a Quality-of-Life feature built to get you back into the story where v0.8 begins, without replaying everything from the beginning. It’s not a perfect substitute for your save, but it carries over the choices that matter and drops you straight into v0.8. Just answer a few quick questions about your previous playthrough and you’re back in business.

This update focus entirely on a bonus episode that, in both style and tone, takes a significant departure from the rest of the game. It is something I wanted to try and will deliver a very different experience from a typical VN. It also explores some “unconventional” themes. I expect it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for those who follow it through to the end, I believe will find something satisfying and rewarding (or not ).

About that VO…

I know some of you might be wondering what happened to the voice-over. Here’s the deal: I really felt that the quality wasn’t quite hitting the mark I want for this game. I actually did release a version of v0.2 with all the VO finished, but after some reflection, I believe the game is best enjoyed without it. So, I’ve made the decision to remove all existing VO from the game.

Potential issues with existing save files

Quick heads up about save files! I’ve made some minor behind-the-scenes code tweaks to prevent potential save file corruption in future updates. While I don’t anticipate major problems, the safest approach is to create a new save file and quickly replay through the game, recreating any previous key choices you’ve made. This should help you sidestep any potential compatibility hiccups.

v0.2 Beta – Rebooted!

It’s been a long time coming, but I’m thrilled to finally release the v0.2 Beta of Confessions of a Sassy Girl – rebooted!

This is a beta release featuring all the content planned for v0.2, except for the Voice Over (VO), which will be added in a separate final update. This approach allows me to gather valuable player feedback and make any necessary adjustments before committing to the VO, which can be quite time-consuming to edit and re-record.

This release marks a significant shift for Confessions of a Sassy Girl. It’s essentially a full reboot, with most images, sprites, and even some character aspects completely revamped. While the core story and my original vision remain, I’ve streamlined the pacing and restructured some story arcs to create a more engaging and impactful experience. I understand that this might not be what some players were expecting based on v0.1, and I sincerely apologize for any disappointment. However, I believe this reboot represents a substantial improvement and better reflects the direction I want to take Confessions of a Sassy Girl.
