Technical Update
-1055 Renders, 15 animations
-Removed the input name at the start of Book 2 to lessen the immersion break since I’m sure the “None None” name error won’t appear anymore, and if it does, we have the name changer feature.
-New choices and exit screen UI; still WIP.

Chapter Update
I have deeply mixed feelings about this chapter. On the one hand, I like it, on the other, I dread the time when the monkeys are all together in one scene. Still, the group scene in this chapter isn’t the most difficult to pull off.

This is probably the most I’ve worked on a chapter script-wise. I kept reading it over and over, but only now, as I woke up and started posting this, did I realize there is one small scene to be added; it’s really small and will only add a little, so this chapter is still good to go. Edit: I have added it now, as mentioned above.

There are a few choices to make in this chapter that will affect future scenes. The walkthrough is attached below.

Where do I begin? Excited to proceed forward, I have everything ready after all.

I have completed the story to tell, the only question that I keep asking is: how do I tell it?

Then I tell myself, it’s an ongoing story, I’ll figure it out. As long as I follow my continuity rule, that nothing published/released storywise will ever be revised, I hate when that crap gets pulled; from anyone. It shows the lack of integrity and dedication in the writing, IMO. Making up as I go along is not my style, that’s why even at multiple requests from various people I have not entertained the idea of supporters having any hold on the reins to the plot at all, except for the minor details with little-to-no plot relevance. So please stop asking and wait for Book 4, I’ll be happy to collaborate with people and take suggestions then.

Anyway, Chapter 25 will be a breeze, aside from a scene or two that will be quite difficult to pull off.

Book 2: Chapter 23
Technical update
-1,400+ renders, 11 animations
-New textbox for the choice, still a WIP
-Fixed the broken saves issue; more details in Discord.

Chapter update
The last chapter was tedious, due to it having mostly scenes with 3 or more cast members, this one is difficult because aside from it having almost the same thing, they have to be more active. I tailored this chapter to showcase more of the cast’s dynamic with each other, so we took a break from the last 2 chapter’s more serious themes and made this one whimsical.
Originally, that wasn’t the plan; as you may have heard/read somewhere, book 2 ends on the 25th chapter and I mentioned Rion playing a bigger part in this chapter. So here’s how it was done: The approach to the last 3 remaining chapters of book 2 is crafting it as a whole, Like with what I did with chapters 10 and 11 of book 1 yet finishing each chapter strongly and with more than enough progression in each, which contributed to this chapter taking longer once again. So what I did is I swapped out events from each chapter to produce a more cohesive flow on the storytelling. As always, I like this chapter more than the previous but of course, I’d love to hear what you think.

With that in mind, I swear the next two chapters will be way faster than the last few updates. Sorry ’bout that!

I had a lot of fun with the scenes in this chapter, but it was difficult; the entirety of the pool scene and sequencing alone took two days to write and four days to render, mostly because it was meant to be in disarray. Oh, and please save on the “Chapter – END” not on Miho presenting our pages on the screen.

Book 2: Chapter 22

A few changes between this and the previous version:
-Added gallery.
-Added a screen at the end with Miho to redirect users to our pages.
-Added Manic_umbra to the wall of fame. Thank you.
-A few edits here and there on the dialogue
That’s about it, there’s not much to address in this post towards the exclusive supporters since I just did that a couple of days ago.

Book 2: Chapter 21
-Chapter 21 Storyline
Edited several scenes:
-Ch14, Transition from Kanehana’s pool scene to Yukine’s night office scene.
-Ch16, How Iroha and Hikari met, after MC and Kanehana’s talk at the beach during sunset
-Ch17, The car trip back home, small scene.
-Ch19, Akiro telling MC how he wooed Kyouko during their fishing time
-Ch20, Akemi tells MC how their father taught them how to swim.

Book 1 – Rerendered
– 95% of book 1 was re-rendered, new visuals, with only Chapter 11 halfway touched (removed clippings, horrible shadings, unbalanced textures).
– Changed the transition effects, the fade and dissolve transition effects between renders were extremely inconsistent.
– Rewrote Miho’s intro a little, since Post-Ch9 fans won’t get the first few lines.
– Rewrote dialogues; no changes to the story; but I did close a plothole. It’s *not* even slightly important to the essence of the story, but it’s annoying once you notice it.
– Adjusted UIs
– Adjusted the code so the “Can’t play Book 2” doesn’t happen anymore

Book 2: Chapter 20
Okay, to clarify so there won’t be any confusion: when Chapter 21 is out to the paid supporters, it’s the re-rendered version of Book 1 that would be released to the public supporters.

Once the Re-rendered version of Book 1 is out publicly, all download mirrors to the old versions will be removed, so if for some reason you want to keep the old ones. Do it before then.

So chapter 20, it’s 1100+ Renders and 72 Animations(Excluding hundreds of renders and 20+ scrapped animations), so quantity-wise, it’s not lacking at all; as for the quality, you judge..

– My job of introducing the game has been taken away by someone and she’s doing more than that. (If you’re new to our game, it doesn’t matter.)
– GUI is completely new and improved: options, gallery, and Wall of fame in our credits. I’ll try to make it look nicer in the next book, but really, thank you to all you incredible people.
– You can now name your saves as well.
– Chapter 1 has been edited, mostly the clunky animations and one render conversation have been addressed.
– Small scenes in chapters 7 and 8, like really small. Just added flavors.
